Yay, yarrow is in bloom :). This is one of my favorite plants in my seedbombing garden. Attracts predatory wasps, repels mosquitos, great for compost, stops bleeding, good in salads, and a ton of other benefits.

@tippitiwichet i read somewhere recently that fireflies love yarrow, so if you plant loads and turn off your outside lights at night (and if you're in the right area) they come!

i too am celebrating yarrow-- i tried several times to plant some with no luck, finally grew some from seed & it's now blooming! lovely pink variety that fades as it ages.

Fireflies also love unmown lawn and fallen leaves, so if you can set aside part of your yard to get wild, they will thrive. Not so much with just one kind of plant, but a mixture of native types.

@fernfren Cool, we get a few fireflies around here, they like my weedy lawn. I'll have to scatter some yarrow near the weediest parts for them :). Pink yarrow, huh? I need to get some to grow near the pink dandelions!
