Someone on Mastodon (@[email protected]) reminded me seed banks can be a good source of free plants as well. Besides the links they gave, I also have a local seed bank through my library, other cities may have a similar program.

@tippitiwichet That is amazing information. I wish all program participants had a place to grow their own but those who are so fortunate definitely would benefit!

@NoMansWoman I was on assistance when they started that, I asked my apartments for a small square of earth, and they let me. I grew kitchen herbs right next to the steps, and I was sick all the time so I got some immune boosting ones for tea, I swear it helped. Not every apartment will do that though, but sometimes it only takes asking.
