Once the root cause has been identified, “taisaku” – countermeasures – need to be put in place. This is part of the kaizen process of making change that is for the whole.

In Japanese business having a problem is a bad thing, but letting the same problem happen again is even worse. It shows a lack of self-awareness and lack of care for others.

"saihatsu boshi" translated literally, this means “prevention of reoccurrence".

The first step in saihatsu boshi is “genin wo mitsukeru“, which translates as getting to the root of the problem.

I've talked about (反省) and (改善) before, which are two subjects that also come up often in

Han (反) means “change”, “to turn something over”, “to see something from a different perspective”, and Sei (省) means “to review”, “to examine yourself”. Kaizen (改善) is "improvement" or "change for the better" which is the inevitable outcome of properly done hansei.

I was thinking about another related concept that is especially relevant in our current times.

I've mentioned before that I have many friends who Japan, some of whom are in Japanese business. I once ran a business that brought me in contact with Japanese people and I made a lot of friends and learned a great deal from those friendships over the years.

I have spoken here before about many of the Japanese business concepts that also align with my practices and beliefs as a stoic and also ones that I often taught when I was teaching an adult communications class.

89/88 is a great start to the week and a great start to a new schedule. Hopefully my body will be able to keep up.

Great workout this morning. I decided to rewatch because @IronButterfly and I have been watching Paul Blackthorne in and ... 4 miles down for today and a nice even carb/fat burn to begin the day.

2 more workouts today and looking forward to a much needed sauna later. ❤️

Been talking about since last year and I cannot stress enough how amazing the books are and also how the series comes across.

is .... mesmerizing.

I cannot recommend it enough.

(Murder Mindfully) is about a defense lawyer who uses mindfulness techniques to take over a criminal gang in this deadpan comedy series based on the bestselling novels by Karsten Dusse.

Kim Tae-ri, whom I love the work of, is on fire in the highly acclaimed : The Star Is Born. This drama has been in the headlines a lot lately and on fire in the ratings in Korea and I highly recommend it.

is astounding in everything she does, but she is really doing something I've never seen her do in this role. It is so powerful and a beautiful story.

Still waiting on an actual release date for one of my favorite series, 👍🏾

JoAnna Garcia Swisher posted a while back that season 4 had officially wrapped production so it's possible that we could be seeing it return maybe mid 2025.

Of course, given how long it takes between seasons, all of the children have become adults in real life and I have no idea how they will keep pulling off some of the storylines. ❤️

But I love these characters and look forward to their return.

Back in 2021 Goddess Chaeryeong and her hair appeared as Choom's Artist of The Month and caused everyone to cry and die for her ❤️ It's a great performance.

I watch this a lot ... mainly because Chaeryeong generally never gets focus like this for her talent as a dancer. Like many idols who are part of a group, she doesn't get the spotlight often. Her semi-twin sister Chaeyeon is more well known but, IMO, has a harder, more rough style that doesn't appeal to me as much.

In addition to , a rather wild looking production of Stravinsky's is coming on November 22nd.

This is a production by director Vidar Magnussen of the Norwegian National Opera and it looks like it truly embraces the madness, the horror, the absurd, burlesque fantasy of the title.

I have only ever seen one other version of Rake and it didn't look like this ... it was a different vision. Not terrible, but not this. I really want to see this one. It looks epic ❤️

Exciting news for my fellow fans!

is coming to the best place on the Internet, OperaVision ❤️ A first production for Garsington Opera, Platée is the chance to indulge in grand choruses and fabulous dances played out in a French Baroque world of glamour and deception.

You will be able to see this epic production for FREE thanks to OperaVision starting on November 15th!

I'll try to remind y'all when it starts.
