The researchers found that honoki, a kind of magnolia tree native in Japan and traditionally used for sword sheaths, is most suited for spacecraft, after a 10-month experiment aboard the International Space Station.

Once deployed, LignoSat will stay in the orbit for six months, with the electronic components onboard measuring how wood endures the extreme environment of space, where temperatures fluctuate from -100 to 100 degrees Celsius every 45 minutes as it orbits from darkness to sunlight.

Named after the Latin word for "wood", the palm-sized LignoSat is tasked to demonstrate the cosmic potential of the renewable material as humans explore living in space.

With a 50-year plan of planting trees and building timber houses on the moon and Mars, Doi's team decided to develop a NASA-certified wooden satellite to prove wood is a space-grade material.

The world's first wooden satellite, built by Japanese researchers, was launched into space on Tuesday, in an early test of using timber in lunar and Mars exploration.

LignoSat, developed by Kyoto University and homebuilder Sumitomo Forestry, will be flown to the International Space Station on a SpaceX mission, and later released into orbit about 400 km above the Earth.

"A Dark and Drowning Tide" is a great new find but I've been falling asleep so fast that I'm not making much progress each week. With a latency of only 7 minutes I'm getting maybe through one chapter.

Last night I started on chapter 12 and kept waking up around chapter 21 with no idea what happened and starting back at 12 again. This happened twice before I gave up 🤣 and just went back to sleep.

DragonAge by itself is a pale representation of the golden age of RPGs and Bioware as well so when you combine stuff together it's not the best experience.

An incredible cello playing robot flawlessly performed with the Malmo Symphony Orchestra. The cellist was built by Swedish roboticist Fredrik Gran who worked with composer Jacob Mühlrad to write a musical score that was programmed in to the robot without the use of AI. This was the first time a robot performed with a symphony.

#LineofDuty could be returning for a much-anticipated seventh series, according to one report.

The Sun says that all the main players have attended a summit to discuss schedules and how they can fit in filming.

This is just one rumor so take it with a grain of salt.

Frankly the last season was trash and I really was having a hard time enjoying it by the end.

Season 1 and season 4 were some absolutely amazing television and everything in between was kind of meh ...

I'll keep an eye out.

Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) and Betty Gabriel (Get Out) are set to star in the upcoming zombie horror thriller, Twilight of the Dead.

The movie is being directed by the director behind Session 9, The Call, and The Machinist, Brad Anderson. The George A. Romero estate is also involved with the project, and it will be the “7th and final installment” of the seminal Living Dead franchise.

The film is also described as a “thought-provoking sociopolitical commentary wrapped in a genre piece”.

Upcoming occult film “The Priests 2: Dark Nuns” has unveiled its release date along with a new poster!

Following Kim Yun Suk and Kang Dong Won’s 2015 film “The Priests,” which garnered 5.44 million moviegoers and featured a young Park So-Dam, the second installment “The Priests 2: Dark Nuns” will tell the story of nuns who perform exorcisms.
