Stephen King has inspired more Hollywood adaptations of his work than almost any other writer. Even now, 50 years after the release of his debut novel, King’s work continues to inspire new, high-profile adaptations.

But one beloved adaptation totally flopped at the box office ...

You may not have know but The Shawshank Redemption was an infamous box office bomb when it was released in 1994 — grossing only $16 million in its initial theatrical run.

Aoshima estimates that there are only two years left for , and it’s not just due to the ageing residents, as the cats are ageing as well, with every one of them now over seven years old.

It’s a very different situation to the past, when the island was bustling with 655 human residents in 1960, but in the decades since, residents have been leaving for the mainland and now the numbers of human and feline residents are at their lowest ever.

Aoshima’s resident “Cat Mama” is one of the residents who provides a lot of the care for the animals, and even clears their poop from roads all over the 0.19 -square-mile island every day so the place looks spick-and-span for tourists.

With tourist numbers dropping, though, and boat trips from the mainland cancelled during inclement weather, there’s a danger of the cats going hungry, so the 73-year-old Cat Mama stores food for the felines year-round to ensure they never go hungry.

By the way ...

If you haven't seen the angelic
Matilda De Angelis in The Law According to ... DO

First 2 episodes of were absolutely perfect and a great mix of social commentary, Park Shin Hye's epic fight choreography, and a beautifully complicated character in Kang Bitna. I'm curious to find out more about her backstory as the drama goes on. The messaging about the justice system is very compelling and timely ... and I am excited to see how far the show will go with what it wants to say about the world.

There's nothing more rewarding than watching Kang Bitna give this abusive asshole a taste of his own medicine in Hell. Park Shin Hye trained for fighting in Sisyphus so it's nice to see she still has that in hand beating the shit out of this guy with a hammer ... treating him the way he treated his girlfriend in life ... She slapped him through a glass window and it was so satisfying ... This scene of her kicking this dude straight to hell is a good 8 minutes long. She's kicking his WHOLE ass.

is everything I hoped it would be. is SLAYING this role. This is absolutely NOT a character she usually plays and she's admitted as much. That drew her to the role and it's wonderful to see her play someone like this. She's digging deep for her glares and her fabulous attitude. I love when actresses go against type like who worked her ASS off to get into and be taken seriously after being the Queen of romcoms. Challenge yourself always.

, the US remake of HPI: Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, just aired it's first episode.

I haven't had a chance to see it though I am very familiar with the French series with the amazing who, if you haven't seen Spiral and Witnesses, is an AMAZING presence on screen.

Kaitlin Olson is another epic presence and she's gonna be perfect or this role I have no doubt.

I am just tired of remakes ... just air the originals with subtitles ... 🙄

It's very lazy for all our fur babies today. I think the cool overcast weather also makes the cats more sleepy too. They are so chill today ❤️ Tauri would say hello but he's busy snoring .... 😆

Oh Na-ra ... or as I call her "Oh My Fucking Na Ra" has showed up RIGHT at the beginning.

If you're gonna nail a guest star in the first episode of your drama ... putting Oh Na Ra up there as the primary demon ... you have NAILED it. Oh Na Ra plays Justitia, the demon who enters the body of Park Shin Hye's judge Kang ... she is absolutely SLAYING the shit out of this role. I LOVE to see her like this.

If you're not familiar with Oh Na Ra's body of work ... it's LONG and epic. ❤️

First episode of is finally out and I cannot wait to watch it. I've really been looking forward to seeing in this role ❤️

Back 👍🏾 All was well ... gotta love mammograms. There's nothing like getting your breasts smoothed by some gloved stranger who makes you pose like a French painting while you get squished 👍🏾 Well deserved donut ❤️
