Cringe is a rallying cry for an entire generation who think that open expressions of emotion are BAD or EMBARRASSING ... a good amount of the population believes absolutely nothing but nonsense, is probably severely mentally ill, and suffering from brain damage ... and whomever is left is so completely emotionally dysregulated and incapable of managing what few emotions they have that they are dangerous to themselves and others.
In my book that spells doom.
Doom with a capital Thulsa.
Universal Pictures’ new #WolfMan movie has dropped a first peek image. The director of the film, Leigh Whannell, said he wants Wolf Man to be “straight-up, pure horror.”

I was reading the DSM for fun when I was in middle school. I found it fascinating and I was really interested in psychology back then. I remember my parents and many other adults and my peers calling me "pretentious"

Just by reading or engaging in deeper ideas and deeper levels of thought I was "claiming greater excellence" even though reading was my way of avoiding people.

Josh Brolin was first approached to play Hal Jordan, but ultimately passed. Now Kyle Chandler is in negotiations to play Hal Jordan in #Lanterns, an upcoming series based on the DC comic.
Not a fan but it's better than Josh.
Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast of the Apple TV+ limited series, "Margo’s Got Money Troubles", in which she will star alongside Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman.
The story is based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel, and it’s being headed up by prolific TV creator David E. Kelley, marking his first collaboration with his wife of 31 years, Pfeiffer, and A24. Both Fanning and Kidman are also executive producing.

Widespread adoption fraud separated generations of Korean children from their families ...
South Korea’s government, Western countries and adoption agencies worked in tandem to supply some 200,000 Korean children to parents overseas, despite years of evidence they were being procured through questionable or downright unscrupulous means, an investigation led by The Associated Press found. Those children grew up and searched for their roots — and some realized they are not who they were told.
Absolute Goddess #AliaBhatt is on the cover of Allure with an absolutely EPIC and encompassing interview within. I go on about Alia for good reason ❤️ She's an extraordinary woman. Period.
This is one of the reasons I stopped talking and interacting with people a little over 10 years ago. I used to spend so much of my life either teaching or lecturing or writing and now I just don't bother with other people. People are so lost, ignorant, angry, and dangerous and unreachable there is no point. It's a waste of so much precious life energy. I gave to others almost all of my life; from the time I was a teen well into my 40s. At some point I decided I owed it to myself to LIVE my life.
I've been saying this for a while that it's really sad and horrifying that younger generations just don't give a shit about dance or passion or expressing emotions ... everything is cringe ... and they are only keeping themselves trapped in states of misery and don't even realize it.
Dance is crucial. Feelings are even more crucial.
Seriously ... the majority of the population really needs knowledge and healing.
Both emotionally potent and cinematically striking, #AfterTheSnowmelt is a dazzling and unconventional documentary where a filmmaker explores their first experience of great loss after her best friends Chun and Yueh go missing. Trapped in a cave in Nepal for 47 days, Yueh survives. Chun does not.

Growing up in the late 70s early 80s there were no Black nerds that I knew of. There was not Internet, there were no personal computers in everyone's home. There were no smart phones, not even portable ones. You only knew the people in your neighborhood and who you went to school with. If there were other people out in the world they may not have even existed. You learned about faraway places from actual encyclopedias.

When the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, the Black community owned less than 1 percent of the total wealth in America. More than 150 years later, that number has barely budged.
#MehrsaBaradaran is a professor and an authority on banking. Her book, "The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap" seeks to explain the stubborn persistence of this racial wealth gap.
This is something I have talked about for over 20 years on and off social media. Stress KILLS ... and that includes people who ADD stress DAILY to their lives by doomscrolling, seetheposting, arguing online, reading constantly depressive content, getting angry about everything, and carrying around negativity that they willingly invite into their lives by engaging with unhealthy people online. When I talk about proper sleep, meditation, stoicism, minding your business, self care ... people laugh.
#YKHong is all about curating her garden online and I absolutely wholeheartedly believe in that. Social media for me has always been about being myself but I have plenty of support and community offline for the kind of real and indepth conversations just not possible in social media environments. Social media really isn't for those kind of connection and discussions. It's designed for limited text and quick access which is not conducive to true learning and deep development.
