Myself and plenty of others were really UNIMPRESSED by the #Frostpunk2 early access demo that came out a while back.
People quickly realized that Frostpunk 2 was going to be an heartless politics simulator with little to no city building and that was just what 11Bit wanted. The first Frostpunk I guess they just weren't that pleased with and that's their right as developers ... despite millions of gamers loving it.
I didn't even realize Frostpunk 2 was out already ...
It's always weird and upsetting when a game does insanely well ... wins tons of awards ... and the developers just sit and think ... this is trash, we need to completely start from scratch and make something else ... or worse they just are mad that the game they didn't like is so successful. I can't imagine what that must feel like as a developer ... to have something do so well that your whole heart wasn't in. Frostpunk 2 is an ENTIRELY different experience and game ... it's not fun for me.
The forums were full of complaints after the early access demo ... and the devs were shutting down extended threads that brought up legitimate questions and concerns ... ultimately they just said ... it's our game and we can do what we want as developers. Which is absolutely true ... as a gamer you can't really complain just don't buy it and speak with your wallet. Complaining doesn't really do anything ... Its unfortunate and it makes me sad that we'll never get more classic Frostpunk though.
This is the kind of shit I'm talking about. No one asked for this. There is no reason for people to be doing this. I haven't even gotten to any point in the game where I can do much of anything and people are unaliving themselves ...
This is going to happen when (if) the second VTM Bloodlines game comes out.
They really seem to be going in a totally different direction and ignoring the things fans love.
Frostpunk 2 doesn't even have any people ... its impressions of people ... the idea that people exist in your city districts but there is no intimacy in this at all ... you're just an overseer ...
