: And before anyone says I need to meet better people, ask yourself how one goes about doing that. How do you know how people will behave in future before you meet them? Where do you go to meet all the "better people"? Are they somehow Certified Better People? Is it on their LinkedIn profile? Do they have a special license plate on their cars? Do they wear a certain pin or insignia? Please, do tell.

That said, prior to their departure and perhaps even early on, they will rib you whenever you get openly flustered, anxious, or stressed over something, however briefly, and/or they will be jokingly sarcastic (see: Schrodinger's Asshole) if you don't get much riled like they do over things.

What is also true, in my direct, personal, and consistent experience, is that the same people who found you attractive for being calm and bringing peace and ease will get all kinds of pissed off and angry with you when you're not anxious and stressed like they are when they are over what they are when they are anxious and stressed. They will apologize sometimes, once the episode/event has passed, but they will eventually become self-conscious and resentful, at which point is...
