1/2: I was fortunate enough to find a few clinicians over the decades that noticed that I was somehow "white-knuckling" it and despite themselves not knowing how to help me initially did explore solutions with me and weren't proscriptive. My shrink for years stopped charging me the last few years before he retired in 2018, said he was learning how to deal with atypical autistics like me by working with me 15+ years.
I do not have the typical problem of not knowing what or nearly what help I...
@Horrrflmlvr: Being atypical among atypicals throws people off. If clinicians (actual pros) can ditch the doctor-patient dynamic enough so that we can talk shop, things go way smooth. I'm getting better at getting them to do that as I get older.
@thedisasterautist dont forget it
