1/2: I am really rooting for the Ukrainians, even more than I was before, seeing as how it looks like this might really be a turning point that’s positive for them in their war against the Russian invaders. I understand that not few people actively dislike and publicly decry that the Ukrainians went on the offensive into Russia’s borders, but in my opinion, what the fuck else were they gonna do? Vladimir Putin and his circle don’t care about anything other than their own pride and image, and…
2/2: … this lately development grabs them by the Charlies and yanks like nothing else. There is no spin to put on it from their end, that they may try. Also, militarily it’s the best way to come in from behind their assault against Ukraine and to potentially fuck that front up entirely and hobble the Russian military at least temporarily but leave a lasting mark.
I cannot say I am wholly optimistic because fog of war. I’m just hoping and then some that works out for the Ukrainians.
@corlin: I didn't grow up on a farm, but I grew up rural. It's where one of my mottos came from:
"Do the best you can for whom you can with what you can when you can where you can with that you can."
Also, "time spent wallowing is time, effort, and resources wasted."
Well said.

Yep.
When I chat with my friend in the Ukrainian army, he talks about getting shit done with what you have on hand, as a National Spirit. "We are mostly small farmers, with no money, we all grew up with this in our bones."
