: I run into this perhaps more than any other. People will say something is a fact or not, and then instead of presenting a case for it, they will demand others to prove that they are wrong. Near invariably, they will not accept the notion that it's up to them to prove the assertion they made, not for others to prove them incorrect.
Don't let emotions and brain chemistry keep you in an argument that's pointless. It's a waste of both, not to mention time.

@piquant00: What adds ugh to meh is when you provide easily verifiable, multi-source documentary evidence of what you're saying, they out-of-hand deny it, often accusing you of making it up on the spot.
Never argue with people whose identity is wrapped up in being right.
