Okay, I’ll bite — my understanding is “ based on errors of law, fact, or procedure presented in the appeal”.
The defense presented, IMHO as IANAL, a crappy defense. Over the top to appeal to Trump, but not really a defense as such.
If anything, Merchan let Trump get away with too much. He bent over backwards to be lenient.
