I was in an interview and told the guy I've been doing a thing for 17 years but not as a job, just on the side (because for some reason nobody has ever hired me to do the thing, but I never gave up) and his response after telling him my entire history was "for this role we're looking for someone who has PROFESSIONAL experience" like bitch, fuck you and that company. Matter fact, go ahead and print out my resume and application, roll them up nice and tight and shove them up your ass

@thedisasterautist it's so maddening. Next time I might ask how much more experience I need doing something, then ask how much they have, then pull out my trusty "so what makes you think you can tell me shit?" 🤣

@dr_zooks: I used to do that, in a way, and it only ever made people angry, indignant. Quite often that's because I was talking with people with less experience and skill/ability, or I was talking with someone who was just interviewing for HR and had no idea how to do the job at all. So I simply asked them the turnover rate, including the number of on-paper-qualified people they had to let go because they couldn't do the job, and then told them they were stupid and would leave.

@dr_zooks: I usually saw the same job positions at the same places being listed again every 3 to 6 months because of the totally whacked hiring processes.

@thedisasterautist upsetting them would the cathartic response for myself because they saw my resume, it's right there in front of them, why waste my time? That's on them.
