Must have done a good job getting MIL's house ready for sale because it was under contract before the week was out. Now I am *finally* able to get caught up on some projects in the queue.

First up were these crochet needles for a Fediverse acquaintance who does amazing things with yarn. She said these are for a machine that she makes hats on. Cool!

Wife: What got delivered?
Me: Waxer/polisher.
Wife: Waxer/polisher? You don't even know her!
Me: You were a little late to the party but you are SO getting the hang of this!

@JPSCHWEIZER63 The tech blew me away. This agent uses drone, 3D, VR, and laser 3D scanning/measuring all standard for all listings, plus the traditional 2D photos. I knew this was available but had no idea it had become table stakes. I told the pilot he needed a shirt that says "No, you can't fly my drone"!

Sorry I've been neglecting some folks here. I owe a couple of commissioned wood items and haven't been posting much while wife and I get MIL's house ready for showing. But its finally listed! A day or so of well-deserved down time and maybe I can get back to business as usual.

@DarkeConteur Oh good a zombie author! Now I can ask the question that's been nagging me for years...Maggots are used medicinally to clean dead flesh from wounds, so how come there are no zombie stories in which maggots are the natural predators of zombies? Or did someone write it and I missed it?

@Avidspark Ah, that explains it. Gotta remember to always read the fine print!

All this time I thought I was being lazy using a pressure washer to wash the cars. I was today old when I discovered they have brushes that automatically rotate the car for you.

I feel like it's worth the $18 just so I can contact the vendor's tech support to complain that I can't get it to rotate my car.

Wife waits until the paneer is made to tell me she needs something to press it with. Stat!

Naturally, I go out to the shop and return with half a dozen clamps, angle irons, a 5 gallon bucket and two lids with about 100 holes drilled in each.

"Problem solved," I announce.

"You're an idiot" she says, then builds this. "Clamps? Paint buckets? We're making FOOD here."

I protest "To be fair, you don't know where those 2L bottles have been."

I'm not wrong. But apparently I'm still an idiot.

My wife asked if we should get one of those stair-lift chairs.

I said "No, those things drive me up the wall."

I tried a new Indian recipe and managed to give my wife and I food poisoning. After reviewing the recipe, I'm sure I didn't do anything wrong. I think it was just bad korma.

Was about to clean out the newspaper tube under the mailbox when I noticed some cedar needles from trimmings I'd done just a day earlier. Grass clippings often blow in but the cedar was at the other end of the lot so must have been deliberately gathered and put there. Took a closer look and sure enough - we've got babies! I postponed the cleanout.

@Brisse They are pricing everything today. I have no idea what any of that will go for but I looked up those old trains on eBay and they weren't as expensive as I thought.

And there's a stenograph machine from the 1940s, and a steamer trunk that's 100-ish years old. In-laws were hoarders and we didn't even know it!

It's been SO much work getting MIL's house ready for sale. I'm exhausted but in the best possible way. The estate sale starts tomorrow, then in quick succession comes painting, photography and the listing goes live. It finally feels real! So many emotions. Closing this chapter in our lives and opening the next one.

At least Christopher Walken won't be afraid to visit now. You should invite him over!

@sugar0addict Thanks! I read flat is good for photos too, for that same reason.

Getting MIL's house ready for sale and pressure-washed the front porch and steps today. This included two decorative columns that were full of bird poop, top to bottom. The nest looked empty at the time But I didn't have a ladder so I didn't blast it.

An hour later the column was dripping with poop again and when I asked who did it, I got a chorus of unapologetic "not me" from the poop squad.

I say if they are old enough to fly away while I'm working, they are old enough to relocate tomorrow.

@LnzyHou Thanks!

That'll save time too. The kitchen and bathrooms will be done in nothing flat. <rim shot> Thank you! I'll be here all week. Tip the wait staff.
