@Animeraider Oh, agreed - many great recordings end with a fade, and some are quite well executed.
Dare not speak for JI, but in my case, I think of writing an ending part of writing the song (youthful composition training rearing it's ugly head?). There's always an exception, of course - last one on the project in progress is a natural for a fade, tho haven't committed to that just yet...
@t_heislen A fade out is fine if used properly. AC/DC's "Back in Black" is a good example.
My real beef is the trend to just end songs without any attempt at a resolution. It's as if the producer says, "okay, any longer than that and we can't really monetize it on Tik Tok. We should just stop there."
