Sometimes obnoxiously loud heavy metal music is the best therapy!
I feel *so much* better than I did an hour ago!
@poemblaze I have got to be in the mood for the real growlers. Quite a bit of what passes for metal nowadays feels a bit formulaic to me. There's great stuff out there but I find myself more and more having to trawl through a lot of over-produced stuff which I don't enjoy to find the bands that hit the spot for me.
I love that symphonic sound but I tend to listen more to folk-metal like Eluveitie, and The Hu to get my fix.
@stueytheround I don’t listen to much metal at all. I’m mostly fossilized, listening to old familiar music.
@poemblaze The majority of the metal I listen to nowadays is at least 20 years old. Even my favourite "Nu-Metal" bands like Linkin Park and P.O.D. are ancient now 🤣🤣
@stueytheround My music is more ancient than your music. 🤣
@poemblaze Case in point. Now playing.
My collection goes back to *way* before I was born!
Excluding orchestral because that's cheating 🤣 my oldest LP is probably Elvis Presley.
@stueytheround Even better, I find: silly metal music: System Of A Down: Ufig #cosomusic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QiXk1WRKYo
@stueytheround Absolutely. This is my go-to. Not technically metal, but arguably metal's father.
@stueytheround Some of the newer heavy metal has a somewhat orchestral sound. But then they start the throat singing and I can’t deal with that.
