@_Hunter Christians are slowly changing their attitude to a lot of things, but as is ever the case, it's a long term project and much of it, sadly, is waiting for the old-school bigots to die off and make room for more progressive theology which in turn enables change in doctrine.
European Christians seem to be decades ahead of much of the rest of the world. The rest of the world *will* catch up. I only hope they don't leave it too late.
