@homebird Which language?
@BlueStateBabe Welsh, I was born in Wales and spoke it until I was about 7 years old, then did Welsh classes in High School, but I moved away when I was 17, so it was lost. I'm in my 60s now and decided it was definitely a "bucket list" item to re-learn it. Doing ok so far! 😀 🏴
@homebird I took French again via DuoLingo and the local community college. Was pleasantly surprised to see how much I remembered. Grammar certainly needs a touch up, but basically I understood and could be understood. Funny how the brain buries some of that stuff deep for so many years.
In the states, I don't think Welsh is taught anywhere. In fact, most schools have dropped nearly all world languages except Spanish, which is our second language here. It is really sad.
@BlueStateBabe I plan to brush up on French too at some point, and possibly Scottish Gaelic, but one thing at a time. When I feel more confident, I might do a few even!
