What's on my mind?
Over the years I've heard and read words along the lines of "I don't care about skin colour". This is usually said by folk who would definitely *not* think ill of someone because of their ethnicity and likely comes with good intentions.
I *do* care, because if your skin isn't like mine, then your experiences are going to be *very* different from mine in my ehite dominated culture. So I can't be colourblind because to do so would make me blind to *you* as you truly are.
@stueytheround we can see and respect ones truth without being and tolerating disrespect π
I see you
I hear you
I'll defend you
As I will for literally anyone
@stueytheround Beautifully said, my friend. π
@EnochianEntropy That's it exactly! Thank you.
@stueytheround Ted Lasso and H2G2 are pretty much my life philosophy.
Yes, yes, YES!
We should never seek to be colourblind.
Erasure is the most disrespectful form or racism
@stueytheround
And if you're "color blind" you don't see the beauty
@Idissent @stueytheround Everyone is unique. It's not bands of colors, its a kaliedscope of lights.
It is always beautiful. Gene Roddenberry said it best.
"The Glory of Creation is in its infinite diversity."
Everyone you meet is a once in there universe encounter. It will never happen that way again.
@stueytheround Thank you for this Stuey. I've had to try to explain this to people in my real life, and was met with bafflement. π I'm sure it was partly them and partly my clumsy explanation.
@stueytheround thank you Stuey, from your lips (and/or keyboard) to the world's eyes and ears !
@stueytheround Said it for me too, Stuey. Thank you. x
