If you could own a work of by any artist, living or dead, on the understanding that it would be displayed openly in your home and never sold, whose work would you choose.

I think I'd pick Magritte. There's a lightness to his surrealism which I really enjoy.

@stueytheround tough one. Years ago I would have said Dali. More recently, Miro

@stueytheround to live in a Gaudi, hell yeah. Always enjoyed Barcelona too

@Merlin @stueytheround I'm with you! I want to live in La Pedrera-Casa Milà!

@stueytheround Dali , but I have a friend with a beautiful Erté which I always say I'd be happy to inherit someday . 😂

@stueytheround i have a bunch of original art... much of it is by illustrators or comics artists, but hey, it IS art (my avatar, for example, was a comic book cover. i'm on a few comic books covers (mostly as body parts, like my hands) & at least one book cover)

@redenigma @stueytheround which comic is that. i tried to search for the image but it was too small to ID. Big comics fan, btw.

@stueytheround

Maxfield Parrish
Aubrey Beardsley

Or an original by one of the queer artists whose prints I have. Felix D'eon or Fyodor Pavlov.

@stueytheround

I love the whimsy of Magritte, great choice Stuey.

If I could own a great work of art, it’s a really tough decision but I think I would choose a Paul Cezanne piece:
