Two sexist words that have gone out of use seem appropriate to use for Senator, clutching pearls.

Hysteria and the vapors are both terms historically used to describe certain medical conditions, primarily affecting women, that were popularly believed to be related to emotional or psychological factors. However, they were understood and interpreted differently in different time periods.
