Watched Civil War with my teenage son. He was fine and was talking about the themes and the cinematography, but honestly it's the toughest thing to watch.

Kirsten Dunst delivers an incredible performance. It's a masterpiece. But.... people in mass graves, executions, torture, being trapped in a tire while doused in gasoline and set slight.

Just so you're prepared.

And the next time some knuckle-fucker talks about the only way ahead for us is to have another civil war, maybe tell them to go see this, because trust me, nobody won in what I just saw.

Pretty sure the MAGA/deplorables would welcome the carnage with open arms. For various reasons, mostly dubious and delusional. But that’s the nature of the Trumper beast.

Movie: Big fan of Alex Garland’s writing (“28 Days Later”) and direction (“Ex Machina” but not so much with “Annihilation”)…that said, will probably wait for the film to stream.

@stuartblair
Jesse Plemmons as *that one guy* (anyone'll know the one I'm talking about, if they've seen the movie) stole the show in his brief screen time, too, I thought.

@stuartblair

Thanks so much for the warning... reality is giving me enough nightmares- so I'm skipping all the violent movies until after November! 😎
