Coot foot (4 toes instead of webbed). Riparian Preserve, Gilbert, AZ, 11/23/22. These shorebirds are hunted in North Dakota, so they're skittish. I've wanted to get this shot for a long time. I didn't quite get all 3 front toes in the shot in my excitement, when he hopped up onto the boardwalk in front of us.
