Cable News Blows Off Biden And Bernie Prescription Drug News But Obsesses Over A Poll

It was a classic example of cable news deciding what is news as they focused on a poll and not prescription drug news from President Biden and Sen. Sanders.

I'm big and adult enough to stand up and say that a response should be proportionate, that civilians must not become targets, that aid workers should be valued, that ethnic cleansing is a crime against humanity, that nationalism is an ideological sin, that accidents do not happen they are caused, that food and energy should not be used as weapons, that unpopular politicians crave and engineer wars, and that Netanyahu has to go.

I have been concerned that my continuing focus on the news is shaping an unhealthy and depressing fog around my life.

I'm getting lots of advice to refocus on the positive, watch less news, etc. And I am sure there is merit in such advice.

Even so, I can't embrace the philosophy recommended by this article.

We are all responsible for this world and our fellow travellers, aren't we? If not, happiness seems kind of hollow.

Trump has made a mockery of our judicial system.

We can now see plainly that our Judges are afraid of holding Trump accountable for fear he's going to be elected President in November and they fear the backlash.

In such an historical moment, we might expect SCOTUS to quickly make definitive rulings to restore the guardrails. But alas, . . . 😞

Judges: REVOKE HIS BAIL
GOP Leaders: FIND YOUR COURAGE

Our principles are only valid if upheld when they are uncomfortable.

And Democrats are going to win big in November — no matter what the “polls” say.

The Network Execs should have learned something from this unpleasant incident. But I remain skeptical.

Just watching the GOP Presidential nominee on TV. (Yeah, I don't know why).

And the one word that comes so clearly to me is "scatter-brained".

How is this man still wielding such influence?

So in view of my criticism, it is only fair for me to give credit to New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who has nailed down a start date for the hush money criminal trial of Trump. He deserves credit for not allowing further delays which would help Trump campaign.

@sloudermilk We do need to start over as much as possible. It's not just TFG getting away with stuff. The Carroll case should teach us that while we do want to protect the innocent, the victims should not have a higher risk of dying than getting their money or seeing the criminal locked up. Why it has become common place for these trials to take years is beyond me. Honestly, for the average person, dragging things out is likely worse for them in the long run too.

I'm beginning to wonder if we shouldn't start over with a blank page to redesign our judicial systems. Or maybe we just need a LOT better method of qualifying judges for our court system.

It seems Trump is being given breaks, delays, and assistance from State and Federal; civil and criminal courts at every level.

The claim that "no one is above the law" is now reduced to a silly pretense.

America should be shamed and outraged.

Accountable: (definition)
"subject to the obligation to explain, justify, or report something, or responsible or answerable."

After a full trial in NY State and a 30 day reprieve for payment of the judgement against him, does anyone think Trump has been held accountable after today's appeals court decision?

Does anyone think "the law" has been fairly applied in dealing with him?

Friends, we must rise up in protest for this misguided entertainment industry trend.

We DO NOT need more dystopian, apocalyptic movies telling us humanity is on its way out.

We DO need more thoughtful, intelligent movies about humanity's promise. We need to see people working together and solving problems.

Remember Guinan 's quote from Star Trek:

"When a man is convinced he's going to die tomorrow, he'll probably find a way to make it happen."

NFL coaches today are so impatient. It takes some time to learn from mistakes to become a really good QB.

Today, coaches just want to draft/trade for, their "franchise" QB and start winning right away.

HOF Terry Bradshaw was the overall #1 selection in the 1970 draft. He only started 4 games his first year and threw 26 interceptions.

HOF Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round in 2000. He started 0 games his first year and passed for 6 yds in his only first year appearance.
