Whatever this arcane Senate rule is it needs to get eliminated pronto! Show more
#politics Every democratic country relies on elections to form their government!
Don't whine if the resulting elected politicians turn out to be incompetent, authoritarian, or corrupt!
That's what YOU chose!👹
The AGs comfort with letting legal issues drag out indefinitely is driving me crazy. Has he ever heard about speedy trials, swift justice, etc. Where has he been living? I know he was a former Judge. I just don't get it.
POTUS is also providing no leadership concerning Trump and his crimes in this time of national distress.
Read about the context and our challenge in this historic moment at the following link. (It's only a 4 minute read).

POTUS and the AG are so painfully bent on avoiding the appearance of political motivations, it's sad.
They need to speak out firmly defending their integrity, professionalism, and the rule of law. We need Presidents and AGs to make the right decisions for the Country - not contract out all the sticky stuff to a "special counsel" to avoid embracing the responsibility of your job.
What could possibly happen? The GOP might say it's unfair? Oh wait, . . .that's already happened.
Inexplicably the US Attorney General seems to feel the longer a criminal investigation takes, the more likely justice will be served.
There is NO justification for:
delaying the Trump investigation and
extending the H. Biden investigation
other than political cowardice.
Again Mr. AG, grow a pair. Do your job.
Are you kidding me? 😲
After (what - 5 years?) investigating Hunter Biden, NOW AG Garland appoints a special counsel.
Good job AG Merrick (I'll appoint a Special Counsel) Garland.
You're so afraid of the appearance of being political that you make things political by your own actions.
And how about openly insinuating that career prosecutors in the normal DOJ chain of command are not, and cannot be, political impartial.
Grow a pair. Do your job.

OMG, this is chicken soup for my soul! 👏 🙏 ❤️

He seems driven by racism, white supremacy, and fear of losing status.
@peterquirk
Thanks. Good point. Right wing power brokers are certainly deserving of blame for ou. problems. But I"m not sure Trump wouldn't have happened even without big donors.
Does it ever seem to you (as it does to me) that we are speeding toward a national reckoning over Trump, Justice, and the type of country we will have from now on?
I"ve tried to frame the moment as it appears to me. Please comment as you wish.

And this from Judge Michael Luttig, formerly of the US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, one of the country's best known conservative jurists:
