80,000 pounds of Costco butter was just recalled, because the label doesn't say that it contains milk.
Me: It's fuckin' butter. Have consumers truly become this stupid?
Remedy: Put their ass on a farm or ranch for a year. A requirement before they can re-enter society.
@Maude well ... how woke is that!
@Zevon Joe Scarborough is right.... this bullshit has got to stop.
There's a time to be "woke" with social issues, but when it comes to simply, fuckin' functioning as an adult... enough.
@AkomoCombine @Maude appropriate the memes and language of the US shitstorm and fuck em up. Holding MAGA to account is gonna be a blast and I'm coming out firing all my guns.
@Zevon
I'm waiting for the produce to start rotting in the fields after the big round-up and deportation kicks in.
Those memes will make themself.
@AkomoCombine
@Maude @AkomoCombine oh yeah! California is warning a mass deportation of agricultural workers will result in food insecurity given Cali is an American bread basket on the backs of immigrant labor.
It's something to see America have to very publicly air it's illegal and very dirty laundry across all the state Dem, GOP or otherwise.
@Zevon
The Rio Grande Valley here in Texas is a huge producer of fruit and vegetables.... using migrant workers.
And... the import of Mexican produce is astronomical across Texas/Mexico border. Add 20% to those items with the tariffs.
We will be entering FAFO within the year.
Buying all the frozen veges and fruits I can stuff in my freezer now (several bags each week).
And coffee!
OMG... coffee will be unobtainable. Just found a sale on medium roast and bought several bags.
@AkomoCombine
@Maude I spent a good part of yesterday reading about canned vegetables. Which I have rarely bought except for beans, occasionally made myself. Sounds like they are doable if you look for no salt no sugar. @Zevon @AkomoCombine
@LaurelGreen
When my freezer fills... cans will be next.
I know everyone thinks this is crazy, but if there are no migrant farm workers... there's no produce.
I don't know of one MAGAt who will offer to work 12 hours/day in a hot field picking produce for $5/hour.
@Zevon @AkomoCombine
@Maude My freezer is small and in high daily use, so canned is my first plan. I also have done a lot of dehydrating mostly for backpacking trips, but now has a new purpose.
not crazy.
@LaurelGreen
Oh... I forgot I have a dehydrator. Need to find it and start on some fruit.
@Zevon @AkomoCombine
@Zevon @Maude @LaurelGreen @AkomoCombine
Ouch. We go through a 40 pound bag about every 3 months.
fortunately it stores well :) @slapout @Maude @LaurelGreen @AkomoCombine
