Just watched a clip on MSNBC where they discuss how abortion is considered a non-issue by the GOP.
Abortion to me, is indicative of how you treat women and marginalized people as a whole. Not to mention it's healthcare.
Also, the idea that the economy is the most inportant thing doesn't escape me. I think it's important too.
But when my granddtrs ask me why I didn't support abortion and women's rights? I am not going to answer that I thought my grocery bill was too high.

@CinnamonGirlE

I have 48 hours to vote, and I have never been this anxious. I am driving 25 miles to another city, so I can early vote with my daughter.

@slapout
I have only early voted once in my life. I usually just go to the polls on Election Day. I live in a small place and it's usually in and out. It's weighing heavy on me as well. So much is at stake. And half of us don't grasp that. Or worse, they want the bad decision.
Have a safe trip and enjoy being with your daughter.

My hope is a big portion of that 50% has a surprise in store. They may find it truly liberating (in more ways than just an election), if they can find the courage to help right this wrong.

@slapout
Every time I see anything about early voting and people turning out in mass, it cheers my heart. I hope there are enough of us that don't want to live in Trumerica.

@Notokay @slapout
Perish the thought! The only thing worse than Trump at the helm is Vance.
How did we get here??

@CinnamonGirlE @slapout I was fully expecting the racism and pro-Christian agenda--that's always been a baseline in this country. I was not, however, prepared for the bone-deep misogyny.

@Notokay @slapout I have always known all of them are there. But what I wasn't prepared for m, was the fact that so many people I knew, subscribed to these concepts.

@CinnamonGirlE @Notokay @slapout
It's weird, the misogyny just turns into background noise that you don't pay any attention to if you've lived with it, then something like this election happens and you're like "Damn. People truly hate me."

@janallmac @Notokay @slapout
Correct. As a woman, I have lived with it all my life. But then you realize "women" are helping being this into existence. I just can't with them any more.

@CinnamonGirlE @Notokay @slapout
Yep. There is internalized misogyny. It is most definitely a very real thing. I have stories. 💔 That's how I know internalized hate happens to many different groups.

I don't know how to help people that this has happened to, other than to tell them to love themselves. 💜 💔

@janallmac @Notokay @slapout
I think if you are in your 60s and haven't figured it out? You are not gonna.
I have spent a goodly portion of my life trying to persuade them to consider the "alternative".
Can't believe we are going backwards. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@CinnamonGirlE @Notokay

"How did we get here??"

🤔 Heritage Foundation

It was bad enough when Koch and Cargill were pouring coals on the fire, but with Putin and Elon (not to mention, NK, Iran, etc.) adding gasoline, it's a 5 alarm blaze.

@slapout @Notokay
I can go back and trace the ways and see what has happened. I just wish that everybody could.
