I have said many times that I would like to avoid us using violent solutions.

They're so tempting.

Something bad! Ape smash!

I was commenting just earlier that convincing millions of people who either didn't vote, or voted for Trump to change and come to the active defense and aid of others would be a monumental task that takes lots of work.

...

So, if we don't want to devolve into the Handmaid's Tale, _or_ civil war, we'll need to _convince lots of people, maybe one at a time.

I would like to hear ideas about how to do that. If we do it one at a time it will take forever.

@AskTheDevil I think it starts in the community. Even if that community is just you and a couple of neighbors. In that microcosm, political differences tend to carry less weight and the "you watch my back, I'll watch yours" mantra takes over. In either event, community is the only thing that will save anyone.
The idea spreads quickly as community members talk to friends, neighbors, etc.
I live in a very mixed (politically) neighborhood. The neighbors do not talk politics.
