I can pay for things at most stores with my watch. I can deposit checks using my phone. I can vote by dropping my flammable ballots into a box and hope that they are not destroyed in the process by terrorists.
We have the technology. We choose to keep voting archaic and prone to interference. We do this on purpose.
@Dane You would think we would do things like empty the ballot boxes every day, or make tamper proof boxes, or monitor drop box locations, or take any steps at all to preserve security when people have been making threats and attempts to interfere in the election rather than throwing our hands up and saying "whoops" over and over again.

We vote on a device, print the results on a scan sheet. Then scan that paper, back to Electrons.
The idea that paper is more secure is flawed. Paper is tangible, but you still have to trust those records are secured and all are secured equally.
This is actually a good use case for block chain technology.

@Dane My phone uses biometrics to confirm my identity. This is part of why my bank is ok with me depositing pictures of my checks than my actual check. We are a smart people, we know solutions that would work. We don't want them.
