Twice I've worked for companies that were much better than GE in a niche field; but not #1 in that field. Both times GE bought the company and used it's muscle (mainly GE Capital - it's secret weapon) to become #1 in thar field.
They destroyed the camaraderie and unique properties of both companies, and sacked the people who didn't fit the GE mold. People whose leadership and ideas were behind the companies success. Their product's quality is no longer important to them. #GE
