So the lady above me left the water running in her bathtub and I have a mess and my favorite boots got ruined π This has happened several times but damage never went beyond my bathroom before. So sad that she is getting more and more forgetful. Iβll miss my boots but I can get others. She canβt get a new mind. #seniorproblems
@Agatha @PhillyBella Thatβs what I was going to suggest. It should help minimize the damage.
@Agatha @PhillyBella some of them have a long "tail" that's used to sense. The water completes a circuit which fires the alarm. If you could put the wire in the attic, but leave the sensor in the main house...
As long as the probe itself isn't meltable plastic... π
@Agatha @PhillyBella Cloth and a metal wire as far as I can tell from having one...
@Agatha @sfleetucker I didnβt even know they made such things! I hope it works for you!
If your neighbor isn't agreeable, you can still put one in your bathroom near wherever the water comes in, but maybe not the 95 decibel model. π
@Agatha @sfleetucker lol. Might not be a bad idea!

I want one for my a/c pan, which is in the attic over the 2nd story. Due to improper plumbing, which we'll fix eventually, the secondary drain line is routed into the primary drain, which renders it useless. We do the maintenance, but before we found out abt the problem it clogged & overflowed. It ran down to the 1st story ceiling over my sewing room. GALLONS of water up there before it started dripping. But I need a device that can tolerate Texas attic summer temps.
