@sfleetucker
Is it foodpron or the other way to spell it?

And just now my phone autocorrected to foodprone. πŸ˜†πŸ€ͺπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

@HumorHasIt And food prone is good too. Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

@Camerondotca @sfleetucker @Tarnagh

Yes, I ate the last 3. It's not my fault. Really. I'm foodprone. 🀣

@sfleetucker thanks for the tip - I'm going to post my first cat pic shortly ;)

@TrishaGreenie It's not critical, and no harm done, but folks do love their kittens and the hashtag help them find 'em.

@sfleetucker OOH I’ll fit in beautifully, I’m all about dogs and food and bad jokes and pretty scenery

@sfleetucker newbie here - I don't want to be off-putting to the established CoSo community when I am boosting political posts, many that have no hashtags. But it's not possible to add them to a boost. Is it possible to add maybe a selection of pervasive hashtags for boosting and posting? I'm trying to remember to add them into my own posts ( for example). Thanks for an awesome community - you guys rock!

@catmomdo You can’t add a hashtag to a boost, but you can gently encourage the poster to use them as a way of helping the community. Basically I do that with the puzzle score hashtag.

Replies are less annoying because they don’t land in the firehose and only go to the sender and your friends. But it’s still good to add them there too.

@sfleetucker Oh, thanks! That's good to know the replies aren't in the firehose at least! ...Will try to limit boosts to posts that have hashtags, but there may be more more than not with the twitexodus and all, which I've followed many that I followed over there... After 13 yrs of that place I never really fully adopted hashtags (probably because I'm an old fart anyway 🀣

@catmomdo You can't fix other's posts, that's true.

You can remind them to add to help others.

Boosting only re-shares them to your followers, it doesn't put them back on the main timeline. It's fine if you boost, but you may find you get fewer followers that way.

Responding to a toot, even if you don't ask them to add the hashtag, and tagging it yourself also works. And it has the advantage of you adding to the conversation without anyone who is filtering seeing that addition.
