I managed to make one of my favorite chicken dishes today. Took me almost two hours to put it together and then 5 1/2 hours in the slow cooker but I got it done.
It's supposed to have mushrooms and carrots but, turns out, 'shrooms can spoil and my brain forgot the carrots. I cut them up, put 'em in a small bowl, set on the cabinet along with all the other ingredients, and about three hours after the slow cooker had been going, I found them sitting on the cabinet.
It was still good. I didn't have the sort of smoky flavor that the 'shrooms give it but still yummy.
I'm actually not a fan of mushrooms at all, (the texture is GROSS), but I appreciate the flavor they give. So what I'll do is for most recipes I cut them up big and scoop them out when it's cooked or for dips, I mince them up real fine.
