Could use some crowd sourcing here. I posted this on social media elsewhere and a conservative friend asked "what's the issue here?" And they made a comment about "other than those flags flagging" and I would like to know a good response. How would y'all respond?
They are unteachable. I wouldn’t waste my breath.
@LnzyHou I agree. But if you did respond what would you say?
I do not accept being insulted for my political beliefs. Please don’t act like trump around me.
You set the boundaries Scott.
@scottyorange a conservative is not your friend right now.
@SaltyVeruca I get that but how would you respond if you did?
@scottyorange Flag lives matter? Idk.
@scottyorange Does that include less obvious forms of symbolic speech like wristbands and armbands?
@lisaannlm I honestly don't know.
@scottyorange Was asking because I am thinking about wearing something to send a message about where my politics lie.👊
@scottyorange If there is something from the SCOTUS about flags being a form of speech.
Back in the day they said burning the flag in protest was a form of speech.
Okay so I hit them with this..."The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects LGBTQ+ pride flags in school settings as a form of free speech, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) says that banning them violates the First Amendment. Also, the First Amendment protects some forms of symbolic speech, including the display of Black Lives Matter (BLM) flags in classrooms." What do you dudes think?
