Making a reasonable choice is reasonable but right now is the worst time to make a reasonable choice.

I'm sure there are political dimensions they're considering -- the messaging at the RNC is now out of date, so it deflates some of their post-convention boost. It allows time to vet a VP without there being a lot of time for the media to tear them down and make delegates nervous about their choices.
@AlphaCentauri That is a good point I had not thought of yet. It does deflate a lot of the messaging the other side has spent time and money on.
Why wait until now to do this? I think the weirdness/blustering of the RNC had been so that this choice would be made. I mean, this would have been an excellent choice a year ago. It's because he has been wanting to tax the rich, isn't it? I really didn't want to be riding with him all this time so I'm also happy about it but why couldn't we have been like "old man bad" a year ago? I just feel like I'm being manipulated somehow and I don't like it. #politics
