so a friend has posited that atheism is a faith. Wondering what the has to say about that?

@scottyorange it makes the religious feel more comfortable but it's untrue.

@scottyorange It doesn't take any faith to say, "I don't see enough evidence to accept the claim that one or more gods exist."

@scottyorange I would say it is more of an orientation of belief than a religion. Just like monotheism, animism, or panentheism aren't faiths in and of themselves.

Should a god come to Earth and show him/her self, I posit almost all atheists would believe. Should NO god come to Earth, you know, like EVER, the religious will still believe. We allow religions to make slaves of us all, even the unbelieving.

@justsaywhy there is a difference between believing and deference. Yes many atheists would likely "believe" but most would not think the god(s) were worthy of being worshipped. Or even trusted.
