You think Yellowstone is a great place, imagine the East Coast in the 1600's.

I get the point, and it is incredibly sad.
Under capitalism, forests have no value until they are cut down.

They weren't, however, virgin in that they weren't being used and managed as a resource.
There were millions of indigenous people here and at least in East Texas, they were sustainably managing forest resources with practices like controlled burns.
It's part of what got me interested in burning
