Rarely go out the front door anymore. Found a court summons wedged into the door jam. I guess previous tenants owe a lot of money and their wages are going to be garnished if they don't show up...weeks ago. Dunno what to do.
My next door neighbors had a court summons stuck In between the screen and the wrought iron of their screen door (we both have the same type of screen doors), for skipping out on rent. I only know this ‘cause I was curious why it had been so quiet over our shared six-foot wooden fence and I went over and saw a thick stack of stapled papers.

I'm not sure what state you're in, but it sounds like a process server who isn't doing their job correctly. Usually, a court summons has to be hand delivered or sent via certified mail return receipt.
If you feel like it, email or call the court to advise them that whoever was hired to serve the former tenants left the paperwork with no one, just shoved into a door. You'll help them & anyone else getting screwed by the server not doing their job. Sorry you have to deal with this.
