Is there a 'magic' potato storage box/crate out there that will keep potatoes for 'longer' than just in a bag in a cupboard?

@scottyorange First, dig a root cellar...

When we get a bag o'taters we want to keep for a while, we put them in the veggie drawer in the "spare" fridge on low-humidity. We've had them last many months that way.

My son keeps his in the garage. Temperature is everything

@scottyorange Some good tips here.

I'll add that if they are exposed to light they'll turn green and sprout (sooner). So keep them in the dark as much as possible. And any green skin should be peeled, and sprouts removed.

@scottyorange if you have one: in your cellar or pantry. Mine are in a basket, on a piece of paper, covered with a old dishtowel. Keeps for a few weeks.

I live in the southeast US so almost everything goes in the fridge or it will go bad quickly.
