Russia will try negotiating and end and will cut its losses when Harris is elected.

That would be nice but I suspect it won't happen regardless of who wins in November. Putin has plans, he's getting old and is determined to make those plans happen. He's a sadistic egomaniac and wants to solidify his lasting image as a winner and the restorer of the Russian empire.
