On the one hand, "OMG yes thank you jeebus!".
On the other hand, "this is exactly how I felt about HRC".
Also, the Boomers and older have died off to the point that this election will be decided by 59 year old and younger.
We (Boomers and older) only make up 44% of the electorate. We don’t make the big decisions.
Was running out of characters, plus this platform skews older, so felt rude to point out the other half of the demographic equation in point 3. But, yup. I calculated in 2018 or something that north of 3,000 Boomers/Silent Gen shuffled off this mortal coil EVERY DAY. Rate probably still increasing, too.
So, that hill gets harder for the Fascists to climb WHEN 👏 WE 👏 ACTIVATE 👏 EVERYONE 👏 ELSE 👏. They only win when others are on the sidelines....
I don’t mind being old. Better than the alternative (I nearly died twice undergoing chemo).
So I don’t influence politics. That’s okay, I trust the younger generations to make the right choices.
That’s what the news organizations miss in all of this. It’s not AGE vs AGE it’s trust.

Recognize that it's what you do, and then develop a strategy or three to shut that down for the duration of the emergency. Check my #Organizing stuff for projects you might be able to follow through on, even a few times. Set up a reward structure to bribe yourself to do what needs to be done. It IS going to take all of us.

1) No one who voted HRC in 2016 & then turned out for #WomensMarch in Jan 2017 is assuming (as I did at the time) that just voting & warning how bad Tangerine Mussolini™ would be is enough. ALL THE WORK FOR THE NEXT 95 DAYS!
2) It was easy for some THEN to think, "he won't be that bad." Now we have the history of 8 years to prove that false. He was AS BAD & WORSE than we expected
3) Demographics: 8 yrs of new, younger, more diverse voters/activists..
