About Jon Stewart:

“He dutifully reminded his audience that Democrats could work this all out at, let’s say, a convention. In a place like Chicago, perhaps? In like, six weeks maybe? While there, the Dems could reflect upon their options after, for example, visiting the restaurant featured in the FX series ‘The Bear.’  In the flurry, Stewart clarified ‘I am not saying Biden should drop out; [but] can’t we open up the conversation?’”

And give the electoral votes to Trump?

WTAF?

@feloneouscat

Jon Stewart has been a hideous disappointment with his narrative since he returned to The Daily Show.

"Can't we open up the conversation?" smells an awful lot like Tucker Carlson's "I'm just asking questions."

Stewart should (and I believe he does, or did once) know better. Especially with what's at stake now.

/Even if/ Biden was truly failing (and I don't think he is), he's got a competent VP & advisors behind him. None of whom want to destroy the country.

@Tarnagh @feloneouscat Preach!

Stewart has been a huge disappointment since his return. I have loved his work, but he is not a force for good in this.

@rpardee @Tarnagh @feloneouscat

He began to take himself too seriously as an “important person” IMO and now tends to sniff his own farts, so to speak.

@Y2cake @rpardee @Tarnagh

He also relies on “I’m just a comedian” when his bullshit hits the fan.

He’s a self-important, low information, comedian. He relied on news junkies during Bush.

Now I think he relies on a staff with the same tunnel-vision as him.

That’s not good for democracy nor good for the country.

Agendas that ignore reality are detrimental to America.

@feloneouscat @Y2cake @rpardee

It's really, REALLY difficult to see him as the same guy who once appeared on Crossfire, begging them to stop tearing the country apart.

@Tarnagh @Y2cake @rpardee

I’ve seen that and, in retrospect, it’s the same guy. At the time I saw it through the filter of “hey, he’s the smart dude on the Daily Show” but even at the time his complaints rang hollow.

He was doing EXACTLY what he accused others. But he had an excuse, “I’m just a comedian!”

This is problematic when you have a large megaphone and are an influencer. It’s difficult to accuse others of having a bias when you ALSO have a bias. That’s being disingenuous.
