So wait--why did the senate pass a republican bill that prevents Biden's studen loan forgiveness? Nobody could filibuster that?

I still don't understand why nobody filibustered that shit. If we have to have a damned filibuster it may as well work for us once in a while.

@rpardee because right now one senator is senile, and one was bought by the GOP ages ago, and the other left the party, but was a wolf in sheep's clothing from day one.

And the other one is John Tester.

@SentinelOfTruth sure, I get that the dem majority is razor-thin, and we got some DINOs in there. But this thing a) came to the floor for a vote and b) passed w/fewer than 60 votes, and I would have thought either of those could have been places to kill it.

@rpardee It came to the floor, to die. Schumer could have sat on it, but the point was always to kill it at some random point when the blow back for the vote would be minimal.

This is how Congress works, sadly.

@rpardee If student loan forgiveness disappears and/or student loan payments resume, we won't vote for Biden or any other Dem. Won't vote GOP. Just won't vote. Although neither affects me personally, it does affect people we care deeply about. We just won't give a shit anymore and will watch the U.S. crash and burn from somewhere offshore.
