So what's the current thinking on using rapid covid tests. If my BIL is doing a multi-day drive to come out for christmas, do we wait until christmas morning & only get together if everybody's negative?
TBH I'm kind of tempted to just roll the dice here.
@yogapaddlerun Just grandma I believe.
@rpardee Doing rapid testing right before mixing will help reduce risk, but already low if everyone vaccinated and grandma boosted.
@rpardee
We got 15 people together in a house for a week last summer. (This was before delta really took off.) All were vaccinated, but mom is 93 y/o. We did a rapid test before setting off for the house, did another two days in, and did another as we left, to make sure no quarantine was needed on our return.
And that's why there's a national shortage of tests.
J/K, but the tests are cheap and easy, and the peace of mind was worth it.
@EileenKCarpenter That sounds like a good process.
I'm mostly just worried about screwing my BIL, who's driving > 1200 miles to be here.
@rpardee Is anyone in your group at high risk if they contract COVID?
