Saw criticism of Biden re: kids-in-cages & googled, turning this up.
Tempted to conclude that the criticism is bogus. Anybody know different?
@rpardee Idk. I listened to a lot of people. I have a lot of thoughts. Human traffickers are a real danger but JHMFCOAS can you imagine being so desperate? Beau of the fifth column made me feel better than didn't. For real the contract at 721 dollars a day to private contractors to warehouse unaccompanied children while licensed social workers in the US make shit wages and struggle under student loans seems pretty representative of the dysfunction as a whole.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine Using a private contractor aside, I think the key difference is that trump had an explicit set of policies that directly caused children to be separated from their parents. Biden has rescinded those, but there are *unaccompanied* minors still crossing the border & that's whose being housed
@rpardee right. And I do hope that they can have their day in court. Whether foster care or relatives I do think that all children deserve to be with families and not warehoused.
