I woke up to a giant spider in my sink. 😨 😱

I had to change oil on a tractor that was probably older than my Dad. 😂 🚜

Then my sister tells me an ex misses me and still loves me and wants to get back together and says I really really really really should. Settle down and have babies 😂 ⛔ 🤢 🤮

I so need a bath to wash away the physical and metaphorical grime. 🛀

@redbam43 @ItsjustJules I have a friend who has very little baggage. I asked her how her life is so drama free, and she said, "I only have two hands, the only baggage I carry is mine." 😂 Wise words to live by.

@promibro We definitely have to fight against the extremism, politically.

But at the same time, at least for me, I don't want to abandon the people who are just lost in the loop or out of touch and don't even know.

I've done so much "othering" when I was a hard right Republican, and especially MAGA, that I don't want to have gotten outside of that..... just to do it again in another direction for a different reason.

@The757Progressive I feel like you're thinking too existentially about what common ground it.

Like I said before, the things we all have in common are home, family, financial issues, health problems, people we care about, our pets, just daily living things, etc.

When I talk to MAGA members of my family, at the least ones who will talk to me. I stay away from the greater existential discussions. It's a bridge too far, but the dialog has to start somewhere before you cross any bridge.

They might not be listening right now, but when and if the cracks in the bubble appear, or they have questions they are not asking loudly.

It is so much better for you to be there for them than someone else who will just keep on the dark path.

I learned as much as I could about it after my own experience.

Looking at my past self now, I find it hard to come to terms with "that was actually me".
There is a bit of cognitive dissonance there, and that too, is something for me to own and learn to deal with.

Even knowing how my friends reached me, and my own journey, it's hard.

I am making very slow successes with my sister, at least. Even one success would be better than never trying at all.
