I received a Teacher Appreciation form from one of our students. Among other things, it said "Thank you for helping at RMS. Thank you for coming to America." If you need me, I will be quietly crying in a corner somewhere.

Eyeball update: I am having glaucoma surgery on May 23. I get to dance at Bluffwoods Renaissance Festival: 2024 and I get to finish out the school year. The procedure is one of the invasive ones my insurance allows, so it is longer and requires a whole lot more restrictions than the one my doctor wanted. But here we are.

"You have gone through a lot, and you have come out on the other side. Keep dancing." This is an inspirational quote and a blessing said to me today. By my cardiologist at our yearly check-in and checkup. In a gentle, fatherly tone. If he hadn't signed off of the video visit right after this parting message, he would've seen me cry.

Saw my glaucoma specialist today. I need surgery sooner rather than later. It will be one of the invasive procedures my insurance allows. I have a video visit with cardiology tomorrow morning and then the glaucoma folks will squeeze me into my doctor's schedule. I expect next week. End of school, bellydance, everything is falling by the wayside. F. M. L.

1. The surgery he wants to do was denied by insurance
2. My optic nerve is both atrophying and now bleeding
3. Insurance rejected the appeal my doc filed
4. I have had to go back on a very harsh temporary medication to hold things as best we can

Wow new setup - or new look - or whatever - and my visually impaired little self is on an Android phone and it is near impossible to manage this. And it is my visual issues I was going to post about 😭

Good morning CoSo! Credible reports indicate that it is Monday, so for the umpteenth time I would like to emphasize that all of us who are not housecats are doing this wrong. Case in point: #Milo - I am so jealous of him! Oh and he is now a whopping three pounds! Gained 0.8 pounds in three weeks with us - for civilized folk he is about 1.3 kg of which 0.3 were gained here.

You know how they say that if you want a cake mix to taste bakery quality, use milk and butter, not water and oil? I did that: white cake, semi-sweet and butterscotch chips and chocolate sprinkles mixed in, cream cheese frosting and more chocolate sprinkles. I can vouch for this strategy. #CoSoBaking
