The party in opposition to the White House tends to win midterm elections. For a while it seemed like this year might be an exception. Then in recent polls, we have started seeing a lot of narrowing of Dems' leads, or Reps even taking the lead. This is a fancy way of saying we could be fucked.

I am strongly opposed to the death penalty. I am from a part of the world where entire countries are refused entry to the cool club (EU) until they remove capital punishment from their systems. #MSNBC this morning is talking about Kansas having a question on the primary ballot Aug 2 to remove abortion protections from the state constitution. There are only *four* abortion providers in KS. All states around KS have gone dark due to Dobbs. I live in one of those (MO). Reporter on TV is less than an hour from me because I am on KS border.
