I am strongly opposed to the death penalty. I am from a part of the world where entire countries are refused entry to the cool club (EU) until they remove capital punishment from their systems. And yet, as the #Parkland shooter is sentenced, I am finding my position shake because I am not too bothered by the thought that he will be put to death.

Agreed. Well, the Parkland shooter got life, so we have a different outcome to process.
@publickovacs I am in a similar state of mind. I remember when the person who bombed a govt building in Oklahoma City was executed, I was not against the decision. But afterward, I didn't feel any safer, plus I don't think that others would rethink such actions because of the execution. There are no winners in such a case.
