My youngest & a large team are on their way to Southeast Asia for a human trafficking awareness mission.
I can’t divulge details but upon their return they aim to inform the public about the signs of trafficking, promote prevention strategies, and support survivors.
By collaborating with other organizations the goal is to create a more informed society that actively works to combat trafficking in all its forms.
Thoughts for their care and safety on this important trip are appreciated. 💜
All team members have now congregated in Dallas with departure to the first location in a couple hours. My girl called us and she’s anxious to get on her way for the mission.
I’m excited and proud of her efforts toward the purpose of this mission. It will be a highly emotional one but ever so important.
There will be a 44 hour blackout period for travel before we hear from her. Security is paramount and all in place. I have those reassurances. It’s a well planned mission for all. I await 💜🙏🏻
44 hours from the time she left her home, met up with the team in Dallas and three intercontinental flights, she arrived at her base location.
A rest day now before embarking into the pits of hell where young children and women continue to be rescued from those whose soul is dead.
In ten days she will arrive back to her home a changed woman and with a more determined heart than ever.
The team must be careful with photos shared to not jeopardize the intent of the efforts made on the behalf of those rescued. The attempt to portray the country in a negative light is met with opposition while in that country. To maintain the integrity of those organization efforts, less specific photos are what I can share.
This evening and tomorrow they are with a group that ministers to prostitutes. They have hidden cameras while a few different teams chat with them and tell them about all the options they have. They give them flyers with information on jobs, room and board, child care, health insurance, etc to give them other options besides selling sex at night on the streets!
Important yet dangerous work.
The government is aware of the organizations operating rescue missions and facilities for the transition of those rescued. Inspections are done routinely to ensure the safety and integrity of the girls.
Yet corruption in the government exists and a recent raid exposed two high government officials profiting from the industry. However, 62 young girls were rescued from this raid. The organizations partner with local police on the raids.
She is being exposed to some of the darkest corners in human existence. It’s a handful compared to the many others we know occur around the world. This trip will embolden her and change her. It will strengthen and reinforce her life mission as what she is witnessing often does. I’m damn proud of her focus.
Last evening she observed operations for the human trafficking hotline within a major organization in the country. It’s there staff conducts a phone interview to assess whether the situation requires further action from the team. If so, the team is immediately sent to the location to conduct an assessment, investigation, or rescue.
There were 15 such calls in a 3 hour period she and others were observing.
It’s very early Saturday morning where they are and their last full day before heading back to the states on Sunday morning.
During this time she and the US team will be hands on with the assessments, investigations or rescues received on the hotline. The culmination of those efforts will bring this awareness mission full circle.
For most of us what they will witness is indescribable. But for those they will encounter it will be life saving if the situations present them to be so.
In a couple hours, she begins the long transcontinental journey back home. Once she departs on the first leg, I will only hear from her on occasion. While I will monitor the flights online, when she touches down on Monday mid morning in Dallas, I will be able to take that deep breath.
My warrior girl…💜
She’s embarking on the big leg of her transcontinental flight.
“Words won’t ever be able to fully describe this trip! Seeing joy & “life” on the faces of lives who should have been completely destroyed because of the circumstances…is something that will never leave me! That’s something only able to be done through our partners here in Southeast Asia.”
This is an authentic cultural bag from the area she visited last handed to her from one of the children whose life has been greatly impacted!
She’s landed after the first nearly 7 hour leg. In just under 4 hours she begins the longest flight of 16 hrs 40 minutes and will be back in the USA. She and the team are weary as this trip begins to wind down. This momma will be glad to have her within driving distance again once she gets back to her home base sometime late tomorrow.
@CherNohio 💜 💜 💜 I can imagine how much relief you'll feel when she's home from her amazing journey
@CherNohio
